Kingscliff Hotel Holland On Sea Clacton-on-Sea, Clacton-on-Sea

The hotel has a lovely seafront location, stylish decor, and is a quiet getaway from the city. Although the rooms could have been cleaner with some dust around, the service was top-notch, happy to accommodate our requests. Dining options varied in quality, with excellent standard dishes but some disappointing aspects like watery scrambled eggs. The onsite car park was a great convenience.

The hotel had its doors propped open with disco music playing loudly, making it impossible to enjoy a quiet drink after dinner. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable, providing a good rest before an evening meal. However, the room had not been serviced promptly. The service needed more training, but the staff dealing with our mattress complaint were efficient and empathetic. The location was superb with unimpeded sea views and easy beach access, although some areas lacked warmth and character. The dining experience had its ups and downs, with some dishes being late and not very nice, but the seasonal products were excellent. Overall, the hotel offered a comfortable stay with some room for improvement.

My stay at the hotel was pleasant overall. The rooms were spacious, very clean, with a comfortable bed, good shower, and a side sea view, although a bit too hot and in need of a refurb. The service was excellent with a welcoming receptionist and pleasant interactions throughout. The location was convenient, offering a great breakfast but lacking cleanliness in some areas. The hotel feels homely and clean, perfect for brisk walks along the beach. The rooms are really good but unbelievably small. Dining can be hit or miss with inexperienced staff. The location is lovely and recently refurbished.
